Honeywell Aerospace now has an aluminum 3d printing lab in Phoenix, AZ as a part of its innovative manufacturing.
Phoenix-based Honeywell Aerospace has opened a new aluminum 3D printer laboratory as part of its existing Phoenix Additive Manufacturing Center near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
Lightweight aluminum is a preferred metal for manufacturing aerospace parts, and having a facility to work with the metal in-house will cut costs, said Donald Godfrey, an engineering fellow for Honeywell who is in charge of the Phoenix lab.
