IN THE NEWS:
Fastenal Company recently released its October sales report posting total sales of $693 million up 7.5% year-over-year. Fasteners showed a 2% decline in sales last month compared with a 2.6% decrease in the same period last year. Safety products grew 5.8% in October compared to 6.4% a year ago. The Fastener Distributor Index (FDI) survey for October remained strong but dipped slightly to 56.5, seasonally adjusted after its surge to 59.0 in September. The FLI climbed to 52.6 in October, up from 50.5 in September, suggesting more optimism moving in to November. Read more:
Economic activity in the manufacturing sector contracted in October for the seventh consecutive month and the 23rd time in the last 24 months, say the nation’s supply executives in the latest Manufacturing ISM® Report On Business®. The Manufacturing PMI® registered 46.5 down from 47.2 in September and was the lowest reading since July 2023. Read more:
