The Fastener Distributor Index (FDI) survey for February 2025 rallied back to 51.6 last month, after its softer 47.6 reading in January, seasonally adjusted. The Forward-Looking Indicator (FLI) continued its slide, impacted by challenging news on tariffs, dipping to 47.3. Overall, it remains a mixed but slightly improving fastener demand environment. Economic activity in the manufacturing sector expanded for the second month in a row in February after 26 consecutive months of contraction, say the nation’s supply executives in the latest Manufacturing ISM® Report On Business®. The Manufacturing PMI® registered 50.3 percent, 0.6 percentage point lower compared to the 50.9 percent reported in January. “Although the PMI® took a step back in February, it increased by four percentage points over the three previous months, with the most recent bump in January finally returning the manufacturing sector to expansion. Fastenal Company distributor of industrial and construction supplies, reported February 2025 sales of $627 million, unchanged from the prior-year period. Daily sales were up 5% YOY. After lagging Fastener Sales finally show a 0.6 percentage point increase. Review report: click here.
