Illinois-based fasteners distributor Optimas developed its manufacturing and distribution roles to function together.
Wood Dale, IL-based fasteners manufacturer and distributor Optimas Solutions made two strategic hires expected to help further support the company’s complementary direct manufacturing and distribution business strategy.
Jim Heller was named Senior Vice President of Distribution, and Chris Martens was named Vice President of Manufacturing for the Americas region.
“We developed these two roles to function together so manufacturing and distribution can be complementary sourcing solutions for OEM professionals seeking resilience and localization in their fastener supply chain,” said Daniel Harms, CEO of Optimas, Americas, in a news release.
Heller has over 20 years of experience in logistics and distribution. Prior to joining Optimas, he was Senior Vice President of Operations at United Natural Foods, and previously held roles at CJ Logistics, Target and Power Logistics.
Martens joined Optimas after 12 years with MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions, where he served as General Manager of MFCS Mundelein and as Senior Director of Product and Process Development. Prior to MacLean-Fogg, he worked as Vice President of Operation for Semblex.
Optimas ranked twice on MDM’s 2023 Top Distributors Lists, including at No. 8 on the Top Fastener Distributors List and No. 31 on the Top Industrial Distributors List.
