During the recent Rapid+TCT additive manufacturing event Würth Additive Group (WAG), an innovator in digital supply chain solutions and part of the global leading Würth Group in announced a strategic partnership with Raise3D, a leading 3D printing hardware and consumables manufacturer, and Henkel, renowned for adhesives and Loctite additive resin materials. This collaboration signifies the start of a customer-focused mission to bring 3D printing to everyday applications. Read more:
MSC INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY CO. (NYSE: MSM), a premier distributor of Metalworking and Maintenance, Repair and Operations supplies to industrial customers announced the acquisition of ApTex, Inc. and Premier Tool Grinding, Inc. Under the purchase agreements, both companies will continue to operate under their current names as MSC companies. Combined, the two companies had estimated revenues of slightly over $20 million in 2023 and have 58 associates. Both acquisitions are expected to be net neutral to MSC’s fiscal year 2024 net income. Threaded Fasteners, Inc. a leader in the Fastener Industry announced the acquisition of Ricco Fasteners, located in Thomasville, Georgia. This move marks the seventeenth branch location for Threaded Fasteners and elevates their mission to create value in, and for the people they serve, as they continually position themselves for additional growth and innovation. IN TECHNOLOGY NEWS:
OMNIA Partners, the country’s largest public and private group purchasing organization announced a major expansion of OPUS – the company’s free e-commerce platform that provides public sector and nonprofit agencies access to industry-leading pricing and contract terms across hundreds of suppliers. Eight new suppliers have made their catalogs available for purchase in OPUS, representing more than 4 million SKUs in more than 90 categories, including maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), protective safety equipment, office supplies and medical education supplies. Newly added industrial suppliers who are now selling on OPUS include:
Global Industrial Company – A national distributor of industrial and MRO products needed to run businesses and facilities.
Grainger – A national, broad line distributor of MRO products and services including technical support and inventory management.
Lawson – A national distributor of industrial, commercial, institutional and government MRO products and services.
MSC Industrial Supply – A national distributor of a broad range of metalworking and MRO solutions.

Meet this week’s Fastener Industry VIP, Matt Loftus. Matt was recently promoted to Director of Strategic Accounts at Advance Components. In Matt new role he will continue his work in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with Advance’s key customers, recognizing opportunities for expansion and working in conjunction with internal teams to fulfill customer requirements, while seeking to improve sales performance. Matt has worked at Advance for over 10 years in previous roles as Regional Account Manager and Strategic Account Manager and has developed a reputation with his peers and management as a collaborative team worker and excellent customer relationship manager.

The Marc Strandquist Memorial Scholarship Fund will offer one scholarship for Fastener Training Week each year. The deadline to submit your completed application to the NFDA is August 31, 2024. Applicants will be notified of the Strandquist family’s decision in late September. Apply now: NFDA-Fastener.org
The Young Fastener Professionals Association Announced their Fastener Training Week Scholarship. YFP is offering members an opportunity to attend Fastener Training Week. Scholarships can be used for any Fastener Training Week program in 2024 or 2025. The FTI Training is valued at $2,800. The deadline to submit your completed application is October 15. The Mid-West Fastener Association (MWFA) educational scholarship is just one of the many membership benefits. The scholarships award is a minimum of $1,500.00 for higher education. The MWFA has awarded over $950,000 from membership dues, donations & industry shows. Submit your MWFA scholarship at MWFA.net. The application by September 1, 2024.
