The Fastener Distributor Index fell below 50 for first time since January. The July seasonally adjusted FDI declined to a reading of 47.5 compared to 52.1 in June. This was the first sub-50 reading since January, indicating contraction in market activity. The Forward-Looking Indicator also back below 50, reading 49.6. Read more:
Fastenal reported July 2024 total sales of $633.8 million, a 10.5% increase year-over-year. Daily sales growth of 0.5% was the lowest in over three years, with declines in all geographies, product segments, and customer markets. July Daily Sales by Product for Fasteners decreased by -6.3% following a -2.7% decrease in June

The BMW Group is exploring the use of humanoid robots in automotive production for the first time. During a trial run lasting several weeks at a BMW Group Plant, the latest humanoid robot, Figure 02 from California company Figure, successfully inserted sheet metal parts into specific fixtures, which were then assembled as part of the chassis.
