If small businesses want to compete in the so-called “talent wars,” they’d better get social. The McQuaig Institute, a talent management solutions provider, recently released a global study on social recruiting. According to its findings, 69 percent of companies now use social media to recruit, and usage is even higher–72 percent–among businesses that say they are finding it easier to fill openings.
Social media is a valuable tool for showcasing company culture, and that’s an important factor in the recruitment process, especially for small businesses. But it can also be used for more direct recruitment efforts, including finding and reaching out to candidates and vetting potential new hires. The best part? You don’t have to spend a lot to get big results.
