Key Boeing robotics supplier Kuka Systems Aerospace North America has been acquired by Texas-based Advanced Integration Technology, the companies announced.
Plano-based Advanced Integration Technology is also a Boeing supplier and a leading player in aerospace factory automation and robotics integration.
inancial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Sterling Heights, Michigan-based Kuka Aerospace was sold by German-based Kuka Systems Group. The U.S. government required Kuka Systems to divest its Kuka Aerospace unit before it sold the rest of its industrial technology company to a Chinese buyer, home appliance company Midia.
Kuka opened a 75-employee plant in Everett two years ago to help Boeing implement robots and automation for building its 777X aircraft.
