Facility Tour / Presentation
October 5, 2018
Celebrate Manufacturing Day with Groov-Pin by touring our facility in Smithfield, Rhode Island! We will be hosting tours on Friday, October 5, 2018 to show visitors what goes into creating some of the most complex, precise parts that are used in many different industries and applications we use every day.
Each time slot will include a 15-minute presentation with time for questions from one of our engineers or machinists (dependent upon the tour group’s interest) and a 45-minute facility tour.
We can accommodate up to 16 visitors maximum per tour. We will break up larger groups into smaller groups of 4 so that you will have the best experience. If you are interested in visiting Groov-Pin and learning about the products we manufacture, please contact us to arrange a tour.

RECENT BLOG ABOUT EVENT:
On Friday, October 5, 2018, Groov-Pin will host facility tours in Smithfield, Rhode Island, to celebrate Manufacturing Day. Visitors will be able to learn about our manufacturing process, the fasteners we manufacture, and potential careers. Learn more about our Manufacturing Day event here.
Manufacturing Day is a nationwide event that occurs annually on the first Friday of October. It was created to “address common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is – and what it isn’t.”
Manufacturing Day gives us the opportunity to show our community what modern manufacturing looks like. It also allows us to promote awareness of manufacturing jobs and educate students on ways to pursue successful careers in manufacturing.
Last year, we hosted students from Salve Regina, visitors from Spurwink RI, and Congressman David Cicilline. Groov-Pin employees led groups through different departments, including machining, quality, and shipping, to learn about our processes and to see how our turned components are made. You can view photos from our 2017 tours here.
Manufacturing Day is equally as beneficial for industry employees as it is for visitors who are learning about manufacturing in their communities. Our team loves being able to teach visitors about their responsibilities and the many different applications for our products.
This year, students and other members of the community will visit us for a 15-minute presentation from one of our engineers or machinists and a 45-minute plant tour. We can accommodate up to 16 visitors per group and tours will be broken into groups of four for the best experience.
