Fastener News Desk announced that they will be archiving memorabilia from fastener distributors and manufacturers from over the past 100 years. FND’s Editor-in-Chief, Lisa Kleinhandler is third generation born into the wholesale fastener business. Lisa’s family history dates back to 1936 in New York City. Lisa’s Uncle, Louis Vogel founded Brooklyn Bolt & Nut and her Grandfather, Emmanuel Kleinhandler founded Hudson Nut & Bolt in 1946. Through the generations Lisa’s family has accumulated a large archive of fastener memorabilia such as paper weights, cufflinks, games, pens, pencils, letter openers, catalogs, scales, handouts, linecards, original boxes of screws, nuts and bolts and more.

The image below is from a handout from Brooklyn Nut and Bolt that will be shared at the opening of The Fastener Museum.

NOTE: The original Fastener Museum was started by Mel Kirsner in Julian, CA. Mr. Kirsner, founder of Pell Mell Supply began collecting memorabilia in the 1960’s.  Unfortunately the museum he built burned to the ground in 2003.

We  are dedicating the Fastener News Desk Online Fastener Museum to Mel Kirsner, Louis Vogel of Brooklyn Bolt and Nut, Emanuel Kleinhandler of Hudson Nut and Bolt and to all those that proudly served the fastener industry over the years.
