Happy 89th Birthday, Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth
This past Saturday, April 20, 2024 Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Board of the Würth Group celebrated his 89th birthday! The Würth Group has been family owned since it was founded in 1945 by Prof. Würth’s father, and management was taken over by Prof. Würth in 1954 when he was just 19 years old. He continues to chair the Supervisory Board, and his daughter, Bettina, chairs the company’s Advisory Board. Prof. Würth’s commitment and entrepreneurial spirit have made the Würth Group what it is today. On behalf of fastener news desk we would like to congratulate Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth, and wish him all the best.
The National Fastener Distributors Association (NFDA) announced that the 2024 recipient of its Fastener Professional of the Year award is Marc Strandquist. Marc served as President of the National Fastener Distributors Association from 2016-2017. He was driven to mentor and guide people in their careers and helped many people grow and develop over the years. Marc’s family will accept the NFDA Fastener Professional of the Year award in his memory at the NFDA Annual Meeting in Irving, Texas on June 13, 2024. Read more:

Join Eurolink Fastener Supply Service and a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need. Eurolink will host a Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build event at their new facility on Saturday, April 27th from 8:00am to 2:00pm. BTM, ISSCO, Twin Lakes Insurance Agency, and Wachter are joining forces again to build beds for the Kansas City, MO SE Chapter of the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization on May 4th Their goal is to build 120 beds for kids in the Kansas City area that do not have a bed of their own and otherwise sleep in unfavorable conditions. To do this they need your help. The cost of this project is $30,000. These funds will provide the necessary lumber and hardware to build and assemble the 120 beds as well as provide the mattresses, pillows and bedding to make them complete. SCHOLARSHIPS:
A MARC STRANDQUIST MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR FASTENER TRAINING WEEK has been announced by the NFDA and the Strandquist family. Marc worked for 37 years in the fastener industry. He was known for his industry knowledge, strategic perspective, leadership, and business acumen. Marc started his career in the fastener industry as a salesman in 1986 and worked his way up to the CEO of two different global fastener companies during his career. Marc’s family hopes this scholarship will help continue that drive for knowledge and growth into the next generation of fastener professionals. The Marc Strandquist Memorial Scholarship Fund will offer one scholarship for Fastener Training Week each year (valued at $2,800 each). The deadline to submit your completed application to the NFDA is August 31, 2024. Applicants will be notified of the Strandquist family’s decision in late September. Apply now: NFDA-Fastener.org
