Manufacturing Day is almost here and the fastener industry is getting ready to participate.
Manufacturing Day is one week away! This will be the fifth year Manufacturing Day has been in existence. Its purpose is “Opening Doors and Opening Minds” to the possibilities and benefits of not only the manufacturing industries, but also manufacturing as a career path. From 240 events that welcomed 7,500 visitors in 2012 to 2,600 events with 400,000 guests in 2015, Manufacturing Day continues to spread the word about the industry. 2016’s goal is 3,000 events, and that can only be met if every event that takes place is registered on the official list at mfgday. com.
From hosting physical events at one location or many, to virtual events, attending events, and more, Manufacturing Day encourages manufacturers to invite students, parents, teachers, politicians, and even other manufacturers to join them in exploring what modern manufacturing has to offer. No longer dirty work, manufacturing is becoming a technology rich industry, shifting into an age of the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, analytics, robotics, connectivity, and more as it aims for effectiveness and efficiency.
In addition, manufacturing opportunities are not necessarily within the boundaries of university degrees. Young professionals do not have to invest countless dollars and years into professions to have a good life for themselves. Instead, they can attend community colleges, technical schools, and training programs to bring about a great amount of reward. If you have ever experienced the stress of the skills gap or workforce acquisition, Manufacturing Day serves to change that. By interacting with students and adults, you can change the perception of your company and the industrial sectors.
Are you ready, fastener industry?
This year, Fastener News Desk teamed up with the Fastener Industry Coalition to promote involvement of the fastener industry in Manufacturing Day 2016. We have created a special page dedicated to the MFG Day 16 in the Fastener Industry with everything you need to get your event. It’s an excellent opportunity to open up and share why you are passionate about the fastener industry. In addition, it’s a great way to rediscover why you love it. If you’d like to read more our partnership to promote the movement in the fastener industry, read the article featured HERE in the Fall 2016 issue of LINK Magazine. As you may know, the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo (NIFMSE) is coming up at the end of next month. This is a chance to differentiate yourself as a company and give yourself an advantage when recruiting talent.
Below are some of the fastener industry companies that are participating in Manufacturing Day 2016. If you are hosting an MFG Day 16 event, please email the information to info@fastenernewsdesk.com.
