The Young Fastener Professionals organization has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the Board of Directors are Baron Yarborough of Spring Bolt & Nut Mfg., Jessi Solt of G.L. Huyett and Amber Artz of the Boulder Company. According to Ryan Kertis, the President of the Young Fastener Professionals, these new Board members embody the “spirit of our organization and bring the essential aptitude, proficiency and energy to the table which will enable YFP continued success.”

In addition to thee three national Board members, Derek Dandy of Bodycote also joined the Mid-Atlantic Young Fastener Professionals; Michael Robinson of The Dyson Corporation and Bob Morrissey Jr. of American Ring joined the North Coast Young Fastener Professionals; Kenny Sanker of Blue Chip Engineered Products joined the South East Young Fastener Professionals; Matt Roberts of W.J.Roberts Co., Inc.  joined the North East Young Fastener Professionals; and Mike Ricciardi of ITW Shakeproof joined the Mid-West Young Fastener Professionals. 

The existing Board of Directors Ryan Kertis, Melissa Patel, Aaron Shushan & Bryan Wheeler will remain in their positions throughout 2017.

Our series of interviews of these new Young Fastener Professionals influencers continues this week with Jessi Solt.



Jessi Solt is a Strategic Quote Representative who works inside the fastener industry to source hard to find fasteners along standards for OEM’s to Distributors. After working direct with customers her entire career life, Jessi knows that applying intellectual curiosity, a customer focused attitude and passion for a positive experience is how you earn the business.

Jessi is certified by the American Society of Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA). She is a member of the Young Fastener Professionals Organization.


  • How did you enter into the fastener industry? 
    When I moved back to my hometown I was looking for a customer service job close to my new home and stumbled upon G.L Huyett.
  • You are a representative of G.L. Huyett. What is your role in the company?  
    I work with in a sub-group of our Inside Sales team, Strategic Quotes. In Strategic we handle the harder to find, nonstandard, per print custom fasteners our customers want and need.
  • What are your favorite aspects of the fastener industry?
    I really enjoying quoting a tiny, complex piece of metal that ends up being in everyday things I use and own. There are so many uses for fasteners and different types that every day is something new to be exposed too.
  • Why do you think that having the Young Fastener Professionals Organization is so important in the fastener industry?
    This industry has been around for a long time and a lot of the people in at have made it their life career and with more “young fastener professionals” coming up in the game it is important that they have a group to belong too. I believe that the support, networking opportunities and information on the younger workforce that they provide is vital to cultivating this generation to staying in the fastener industry.
  • Describe your role as the Strategic Quote Representative on the Young Fastener Professionals Board of Directors.  
    Well on the board I’m not just a Strategic Quote representative from G.L Huyett, I am a regional and national representative of Millennials in the workplace that supports the missions of YFP to enlighten and broaden the industry.
  • What do you hope to bring/contribute to the future of the Young Fastener Professionals?
    I hope that my perspective and commitment to success will aid to the shaping of future fastener professionals and the future of the industry.
