This year’s National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo (NIFMSE) took place October 25-27, 2016 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, NV. This year’s event was the very first since being acquired last year by Emerald Expositions. As early as December 2015, Emerald Expos reported booming sales for the 2016 show. 

2016 Fastener Show Facts

According to the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Show Director, Susan Hurley, the show’s buyer attendance increased 18% since 2015. Over 750 exhibitors were on display at the show with a total of 5,133 attendees overall. 

Several improvements also experienced a positive reaction from show attendees. Source Global, the newly established international area of the show, was well-received. The matchmaking/concierge desk at the front of the show was a popular favorite of attendees.

Extended hours of the Welcome Reception helped with networking opportunities in a more informal atmosphere. The Hall of Fame Ceremony was held on the show floor where more people were able to attend and take part of the celebration without having to leave the hall.

 

This year also introduced the first ever annual Young Fastener Professional Award. NIFMSE looks forward to continue this tradition in the future. 

Next year, attendees can anticipate a new location at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the Central Hall on October 17-19, 2017. This will allow for more opportunities to grow the number of exhibitors, product categories, and attendees. 

Technology is becoming an increasingly important part of not only business practices, but also the show experience. This year, the show made its app available for attendees. To make interacting with attendees and conducting business more proactive, the show is looking into options for providing wifi access.
